Hypereosinophilic Syndrome, HES or Hypereosinophilia is a rare blood disorder. Patients with HES have a marked increase in eosinophils - a type of white blood cell - in their bloodstream. These patients typically suffer symptoms of a wide variety of other illnesses - such as colds, the flu or rashes.  While this makes the disorder hard to diagnose. However, when diagnosed correctly and the disorder actively managed, patients can lead healthy lives.

I am Dr. Finella Brito-Babapulle, a London-based Hematologist, and I have researched Hypereosinophilic Syndrome (HES) for the past 15 years. I helped create this website so patients suffering from this disease, specifically HES, can connect with the leading research of the day and with each other.
